I. How can nations work with private pharmaceutical manufacturers to develop new vaccines and next-generation treatments? The purpose of this session is to stimulate group discussion on issues facing manufacturers including liability issues, financial constraints, research and development, collaboration with governmental agencies, partnerships in private industry, long and short term commitments necessary to produce vaccines and new drugs in general.

The audience will explore issues surrounding emergency use of pharmaceuticals & other countermeasures in a terrorism event. NOTE: Presentation #2 by a pharmaceutical industry representative.

III. Regulatory Issues: How do individual country regulations affect the ability of countries to stockpile drugs, vaccines and medical equipment? The purpose of this session is to open discussions on how food and drug/medical regulations in each country affect the stockpiling of medicines. NOTE: Presentation #3 by pharmaceutical industry representative.
